DESCRIPTION:From the New England Quilt Museum Website: \nBlue holds a unique place in our human consciousness. It is an elusive color\, rarely found in nature\, and yet universally associated with the sky and the sea. In our imaginations and the art we create\, it manifests as wide horizons and starry nights\, peaceful waters and powerful waves\, the royal and the divine. \nThe quilts selected for this exhibition by NEQM Curator\, Pamela Weeks\, span 200 years and range from exceptional antique quilts to cutting-edge contemporary works. They not only illustrate a diverse range of techniques and styles\, but also display an extravagant variety of blue textiles–deep indigo\, Prussian blue\, turquoise\, cobalt and cornflower\, to name just a few. The works are complemented by informative curatorial research on the intriguing\, lesser-known\, and often brutal\, history of this captivating color.

DESCRIPTION:Workshop for jacket making with Kenlyn Jones is Saturday\, March 7\, 2026\, 10-3:30pm 30 Ray Ave\, Burlington in Nancy Sandreuter’s conference room. You must bring a quilt to cut up! Limit 10. Contact is Gail Dwyer gaild516@aol.com \nSupply list \n\nBacked Quilt (Ideally with binding so you can use bound sections as jacket hem)\n\nYou can use a lap if you only want it as a section of your jacket\, but you will need an alternative material for the base of your jacket\nA large throw of 80”x60” or large works best because you’ll have the most flexibility as far as placement of your design\n\n\nMatching threads\nSewing supplies\, including large straight rulers for jacket pattern creation\nBias binding to cover seams\nPins or clips to hold together\nDesired closure – zipper\, buttons\, toggles\, etc.  Your jacket can be done without closures\, but we will go over multiple types\nSewing machine and iron/ironing mat\nExtension cord\nPocket fabric\, if you want a fancy pocket lining\, please bring a ½ yard.\nScissors\, a rotary cutter/mat\, and tailor’s chalk or fabric markers and pencils for pattern creation!
